Regional Economic Development Council Application Now Open
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has launched Round VII of the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) initiative, and the Consolidated Funding Application opened Monday, May 1, 2017. This year the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) will take part in two funding programs. As in previous years, NYSCA Arts and Cultural Initiatives funding will award up to $5 million across the state’s 10 regions to enhance and transform the cultural and economic vitality of New York State communities. New this year is the NYSCA/ESD Arts & Cultural Facilities Improvement Program, a capital grant program offered in collaboration with Empire State Development, which will award up to $20 million in funding across the state to arts and cultural organizations.

January Contract Cycle
As you know, for the past three years, NYSCA has been moving to a January contract cycle as July contracts expire to comply with New York State procurement regulations. To date, approximately 75% of NYSCA grantees have made this transition. To this end, all new contracts will continue to be issued on a January 1st – December 31st contract cycle. Once this transition is complete, NYSCA will be primed to more efficiently review applications and consistently execute on-time contracts in accordance with prompt contracting guidelines.
