  Project Support

Registration deadline: January 22, 2010
Application deadline: April 12, 2010

Organizations receiving General Operating Support or General Program Support from the Museum Program are not eligible for funding in this category.

Applicants to this category may submit only one request to the Museum Program.

The Museum Program offers an opportunity for museums or museum service organizations to seek support for projects or programs which are essential to maintain and/or increase service to their audience/communities.  Such arts and cultural projects may include, but are not limited to: exhibitions, education programs, public programs, salary support, interpretation, collections research, catalogs, audience development, and services to the field.

Exceptions

Please note that the Museum Program does not generally support projects focused on archival or library collections.  For support for such collections, please contact New York State’s Documentary Heritage Program or Program for the Conservation &Preservation of Library Research Materials.

Organizations seeking collections storage efforts which involve shelving, are generally advised to review the guidelines for Capital Projects.

Organizations seeking conservation treatment support are advised to apply to the Conservation Treatment Grant Program administered on behalf of NYSCA by the Greater Hudson Heritage Network.

Applicants are strongly advised to discuss their ideas with NYSCA staff well before the deadline.
