Dance
Dance Notation Bureau Documents and preserves a body of dance literature with a library of nearly 500 notated dance scores. Dance/NYC Dance/NYC is a branch of Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance. Solely dedicated to the needs of NYC dance, it focuses on raising awareness of the extraordinary legacy and ongoing creativity of dance in NYC; on issues of space and real estate; on advocacy and data gathering. Dance/NYC convenes workshops and seminars on issues relevant to the needs of the dance community throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Dance/USA This national service organization for dance companies includes information about educational and training programs for young dancers on their website, with links to member schools. Dance Theater Workshop Membership offers opportunities for artists and dance enthusiasts to interact through privileged access to exclusive events, special offers, and extensive programs that support artistic development, creation, and presentation. Programs include fiscal sponsorship, marketing services, workshops, and classes. Studio space is available rehearsal, class and informal showing rentals. DanceWorks (Pentacle) A management consortium providing low-cost fiscal administration, representation/booking, public relations, and grant writing services tailored to the needs of emerging and mid-sized dance, theater, and music organizations. Dance Injuries A not for profit organization dedicated to providing dancers with affordable, quality medical care. Offers a weekly dance clinic led by a dance-specific orthoapedic surgeon and physical therapists; dance physical therapy; free injury prevention assessments; injury prevention workshops; financial assistance to those who are un- or under-insured, more. NYC Dance Spaces A free online resource for dance rehearsal, audition and performance spaces in New York City's five boroughs. Hundreds of spaces are listed. Easily search for space that meets your needs using specific criteria: rental rate, space size and/or location. Narrow your search by flooring type. Space details and contact information are given with each listing. The Field The Field is a non-profit arts service organization providing workshops, performance opportunities, and a variety of career-based services to performing artists working in dance, theater, performance art, music, and text. The Field sponsors the on-line resource Go Tour for performing artists and companies. Movement Research

for the Performing Arts Possesses one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of dance information in existence, including 31,000 reels of film and videotape, photographs, publications, newspaper records, lithographs, production materials, and other related dance items. New York State
DanceForce With a network of 20 arts organizations representing 15 counties throughout New York state, the DanceForce subsidizes important projects such as artist residencies, community outreach and dance programming that links artists and audiences across the state. (Dixon Place) An alternative performance venue that presents several different dance series and serves as an artistic laboratory for new experimental work. Low-cost rehearsal spaces Please note that NYSCA's Dance Program funds dance companies and arts organizations to provide subsidized, low-cost rehearsal space for dance artists (at $10/hour or less).
